As July ushers in the summer vacation season, Taipei and New Taipei City kick off the first Saturday with performances across various districts. The lineup includes traditional fire-jumping fishing, outdoor concerts, jazz performances, and more—perfect for making the most of your holiday.
1. Fire-Jumping Fishing Performance
Time: Starting 4:00 PM, July 2
Location: Jinshan Huanggang Fishing Port
Details: Fire-jumping fishing is a traditional fishing method used by Jinshan fishermen. The event will feature DIY activities, a fun fair, and a quiz. At 7:30 PM, there will also be a fire-jumping fishing boat demonstration by the harbor.

2. Bitan Jazz Band Performance
Time: 6:30 PM, July 2
Location: Bitan East Bank Plaza
Details: The Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra and renowned musicians will present a two-hour performance of classic hits in a jazz band format.

3. New Taipei City’s Sanxia Indigo Dyeing Festival
Time: June 29 – August 6, with main events on July 2
Location: Sanxia Area
Details: On July 2, the Sanxia Indigo Dyeing Festival will host a "Blue Fun Day" themed around indigo dyeing, featuring DIY dyeing workshops, boutique exhibitions, cultural lectures, and heritage tours.

4. 2016 Taipei Riverside Music Festival
Time: July 2 – August 27
Location: July 2 at Da Dao Cheng No. 5 Water Gate
Details: The two-month Taipei Riverside Music Festival invites multiple singers and bands to perform weekly at various riverside spots in Taipei. On July 2, groups like Cloud Rollers and Taipei Power Company will take the stage.

5. Meiting’s Yueqin Performance
Time: 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, July 2
Location: Beitou Meiting
Content: Performed by the San Ying Yueqin Folk Song Society and the Si Jie Yueqin Folk Song Society at Beitou Meiting, featuring classic Taiwanese folk songs. On-site, visitors can receive a yueqin bamboo fan upon presenting their queue number.
