The U.S. Senate unanimously passed the "Taiwan Travel Act" (HR535, Taiwan Travel Act) to promote mutual visits between officials of all levels from Taiwan and the United States. The bill will now be sent to the White House and will become law after being signed by U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to the Taiwan Travel Act, the United States should allow high-level Taiwanese officials to enter the U.S. to meet with officials from the U.S. Department of State, Department of Defense, and other government departments. The Taiwan Travel Act was first passed unanimously by the U.S. House of Representatives, then approved by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and finally passed in a vote by the full U.S. Senate.
