The Lin Chupi Kapok Avenue in Baihe has been listed by a Spanish travel and leisure website as one of the world’s 15 most beautiful flower-filled walking paths. When the kapok trees burst into bloom every March, the miles-long crimson sea of flowers always attracts many visitors to come and admire them. This year, during the kapok flowering season, the Lin Chupi Kapok Avenue is also hosting the “2018 Kapok Season” event, featuring not only musical feasts and street performer shows but also opportunities for photo ops and flower viewing—it’s definitely a great holiday travel destination.

The 2018 Kapok Season takes place from March 10 to April 8 during the flowering period, with a different themed event each week. These include an ancient zither concert and performances by Chimei Mandolins, as well as a half marathon and a DIY thousand-piece sushi event. Visitors can not only experience the unique thrill of running beneath the kapok blossoms but also enjoy a relaxing time taking photos, admiring the flowers, and listening to music over the holiday.

In addition, to coincide with this year’s Kapok Season event, special holiday shuttle trains and increased services to the kapok avenue have been arranged. Traffic controls are also in place: vehicles will be prohibited from entering the flower-viewing area between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Drivers visiting the blooms can park along the nearby South 88 and 89 roadsides, then walk about 10 to 15 minutes to reach the flower-viewing zone.
