March is not only the perfect season for cherry blossom viewing but also when enchanting purple wisteria flowers burst into bloom. Rui Village in Meishan Township, Chiayi County, is home to Taiwan’s most stunning wisteria displays. Every year during the wisteria blooming season, the “Wisteria Festival” is held, and this year’s flower-viewing period is set for March 10 to 25. The vast waves of purple romance are a breathtaking sight.

This year, Rui Village is also hosting a Wisteria Festival, coordinated with nearby attractions, offering multiple flower-viewing spots for visitors to plan a floral excursion.
Rui Village in Meishan Township, Chiayi County, is a key tourist destination along the northern route of Alishan. In addition to bamboo forests, hiking trails, and firefly viewing, the romantic and ethereal ambiance of wisteria flowers is a unique spectacle found nowhere else in Taiwan. To complement this year’s Wisteria Festival, the local area has unveiled 17 flower-viewing spots. Visitors can follow County Highway 166, enjoying both the scenery and the purple romance of the wisteria.
