Starbucks has once again created a unique new store. The latest Tamsui Cloud Gate branch is located in the Cloud Gate Theater complex, surrounded by greenery and vast lawns. 1. Starbucks Cloud Gate Tamsui
This marks Starbucks’ 20th anniversary in Taiwan. To celebrate, it has built Taiwan’s first store located within a performing arts and cultural space, right next to the Cloud Gate Theater in Tamsui. Blending with the artistic concept of Cloud Gate—where art coexists with nature—the store offers views of Guanyin Mountain and the mouth of the Tamsui River. Here, you can enjoy tranquil seclusion and serenity while sipping coffee and soaking in the cultural ambiance.

2. Cloud Gate Theater
Since the Cloud Gate Bali rehearsal venue was destroyed by fire in 2008, Cloud Gate founder Lin Hwai-min searched for a new location. In 2015, the “Cloud Gate Theater” reopened here, situated on a small hill near the mouth of the Tamsui River, close to historical sites such as the Fort San Domingo, Hongmao Castle, and Oxford College. This collaboration between Uni-President Starbucks and Cloud Gate has brought the Starbucks Cloud Gate Tamsui branch to this location—not just a place for coffee, but also a cultural and artistic retreat.

3. One Drop of Water Memorial House
During the Great Hanshin Earthquake in Japan, a historic house in the Murokawa community of Fukui Prefecture survived the disaster and became a symbol of hope during reconstruction. After the 1999 921 Earthquake in Taiwan, in recognition of the resilience and hardship faced by Taiwanese during rebuilding, the community donated the house to Taiwan. It was named the One Drop of Water Memorial House, serving as a meaningful symbol of friendship between Taiwan and Japan.
