Ibaraki Prefecture’s renowned national flower-viewing destination, Hitachi Seaside Park, offers a rich variety of blooms and sweeping, expansive views. Every April and May, up to 4.5 million Kochia scoparia (also known as pink daisies) burst into bloom, transforming the park into a romantic, fairytale-like landscape of sweeping blue-purple hues.

Hitachi Seaside Park features a wide variety of blossoms. In spring alone, you can enjoy sequential blooms of narcissus, tulips, and pink daisies. Especially in late April, the expansive blue-purple fields of pink daisies create an unforgettable sea of color blending sky and flowers, making it one of Ibaraki Prefecture’s major tourism highlights in recent years.

In April, in addition to the pink daisy-covered hillsides, there are also golden rapeseed fields and vibrant tulips. Travelers visiting during this season can enjoy three types of floral seas in one trip. The pink daisies are mainly found on Mikasa no Oka (Hill of Clear Skies), where the expansive flower fields offer sea views from different angles and can even be admired against a backdrop of rapeseed flowers.
