Beyond the well-known Huis Ten Bosch, Japan has many other tulip spots worth visiting, including the Tonami Tulip Fair, Tokyo’s Showa Memorial Park, and others, all offering spectacular floral displays.

1. Toyama Prefecture – Tonami Tulip Park
Tonami City is Japan’s top tulip-producing area, with 600 varieties and 2.5 million brilliantly colored tulips in full bloom. The annual “Tonami Tulip Expo,” held from late April to early May, is one of Japan’s most celebrated flower festivals.

2. Toyama Prefecture – Asahi Town
Also located in Toyama Prefecture, along the Sumikawa River, an 800-meter stretch is backed by snow-capped Northern Alps and features 250 cherry blossom trees. In April, the area also bursts into bloom with tulips and rapeseed flowers, creating a rare and stunning triple floral spectacle.

3. Yamanashi Prefecture – Flower Town Park
Located near the lake closest to Mount Fuji, Flower Town Park sits at an altitude of about 1,000 meters and offers blooming flowers year-round in a romantic setting. From late April to early May, visitors can enjoy vast fields of bright tulips. The park also features traditional Japanese gardens, a three-wheel watermill, Meiji Falls, a water park, and a lava tree-shaped underground experience site.
