Every June is the season when hydrangeas bloom in Japan. The flowers burst like flower balls, and the dense sight of these exploding flower balls is an unmissable sea of flowers in the summer. Located in Kamakura, Meigetsu-in, also known as the “Hydrangea Temple,” is a famous flower-viewing spot in Kanagawa, where about 2,500 hydrangeas compete in full bloom around mid-June.

Meigetsu-in is said to have a history of over 800 years. Every year during Japan’s rainy season in June and July, thousands of hydrangeas in the temple grounds bloom, creating a beautiful sea of flowers in various colors, peaking around mid-June.
