Japan’s Four Great Wonders All Here – Must-Visit Yamaguchi Dream Flower Expo for Cherry Blossom Lovers

To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Meiji Restoration, Yamaguchi Prefecture Government organized the “Yamaguchi Dream Flower Expo” under the theme “Blossoming in Yamaguchi, Sowing Seeds for the Future – Reflecting on the Past 150 Years, Connecting to the Next 150 Years,” held at Yamaguchi KIRARA Expo Memorial Park from September to November.

The Yamaguchi Dream Flower Expo is Japan’s largest flower and greenery festival, featuring 10 million blooming flowers across eight zones. The paid area boasts four Japanese superlatives, including Japan’s longest bamboo roller coaster, Japan’s largest lawn square, and Japan’s longest and tallest wooden swing.

The specially built Japan’s longest bamboo roller coaster in the Mountain Outdoor Play Area utilizes the slope of the hill to send riders gliding toward the sea, and also features animal sculptures made from dried rice straw standing up to 4 meters tall.

Among the eight exhibition zones, the paid areas include the “Welcome Entrance Zone,” “Flower Valley Zone,” “Garden Exhibition Zone,” “Forest Picnic Zone,” “Mountain Outdoor Play Area,” and “Sea Outdoor Play Area.” The free areas consist of the “Forest of 2050 Zone” and the “Sea Big Meadow Play Zone.”
