Though it may not look very large, Xia Ye Dou Hang uses wooden planks to create its facade. Without any flashy signage, a few chairs placed outside are often occupied by patrons. A closer look at the window counter reveals the shop’s own roasted coffee beans, giving off a distinctly Japanese vibe.

The café serves options such as espresso, pour-over, and cold drip coffee, and also sells its own roasted beans, primarily light roasts. Each cup is meticulously ground and brewed by the owner, and together with the shop’s stylish ambiance, it delivers a fashionable yet high-quality experience, making it a popular spot in the alleys.

When it comes to brunch, hearty charcoal-grilled toast is a top choice for many. Also located in an alley off Songjiang Road, “Liang Su Shop” focuses on thick, charred toast and also serves rice bowls, freshly cooked soy milk, black tea, and more. It has attracted crowds shortly after opening.
