Singapore Airlines announced in October the resumption of nonstop flights to New York, operated by the latest version of the Airbus A350 jetliner. This direct journey spans 19 hours, making it the longest in the world.

The Singapore-to-New York route was previously operated before 2013 but was suspended due to high fuel costs for long-haul flights and the return of the then-used A340-500 aircraft to Airbus. Now making a comeback, the airline announced the restart of operations on October 11 for the nonstop route from Changi Airport to Newark Airport.

This world's longest nonstop route covers a total distance of approximately 16,600 kilometers. Tickets will be available for booking through various channels starting May 31, 2018, with prices starting at around 5,500 Singapore dollars (SGD), making it one of the most talked-about routes globally in recent times.
