The trial operation of the Shenyao Railbike has drawn significant attention and popularity. The discounted fare (NT$100 per one-way ride per person) has been extended to the Lantern Festival on February 19, and travel packages have gone on sale that allow visitors to enjoy both the Railbike and scenic spots across New Taipei City’s northern coastline.

Youthful Mountain-Sea Route: Green Travel on the Shenyao Railbike
New Taipei City’s northern coastline scenery enjoys international acclaim, featuring a unique coastal terrain of alternating capes and bays adorned with peculiar rocks and formations. The local cuisine and culture are also rich in charm. Located along the central route of the northern coastline attractions, the Shenyao Railbike stretches 1.3 kilometers. It offers a pedal-powered riding experience inspired by the concept of two people cooperating to move forward on the tracks. This leisurely and eco-friendly mode of transport places no burden on nature, allowing riders to enjoy the railway scenery while experiencing fun beyond that of a regular train ride.
The “Youthful Mountain-Sea Route” is a green travel concept actively promoted via railways and public transportation. In addition to reaching the Shenyao Railbike site by bus, visitors can also take the train. The rail line connects stations such as Ruifang, Houtong, Jingting, Pingxi, Shifen, and the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology, allowing travelers to freely plan a nostalgic and cultural railway journey. Experience the railway scenery and discover fun beyond simply taking the train.

In the future, the area will further integrate electric scooters and bicycles to connect surrounding attractions, creating a green travel route that combines sea views, ecology, mining culture, and railway features. This will become a major highlight of the Youthful Mountain-Sea Route. The New Taipei City Government aims to establish the northern coastline as the most beautiful coastal tourism and leisure brand through creative and environmentally friendly new experiences, and to let more people discover the beauty of Shenyao.
The originally scheduled discount fare (NT$100 per one-way ride per person), valid until January 31, has been extended to February 19. From the Lunar New Year holiday all the way to the Lantern Festival, visitors can enjoy the experience at the discounted rate. The Shenyao Railbike is set to return to its original price of NT$150 starting February 20, when full operations officially commence.
