Located upstream of the Ashiwen River in Shizi Township, Pingtung County, is Southern Taiwan’s largest KAYUFENG Waterfall. In summer, the abundant water flow reveals layered mountains and lush valleys, offering a spectacular view that netizens have praised as a paradise on earth, and was also the filming location for the domestic film “The Missing Piece.”

The path to Kayufeng Waterfall is often damaged due to the steep mountain roads and severe erosion caused by heavy rainfall in summer. If you plan to visit this remote mountain trail, it is recommended to drive a high-performance 4WD vehicle.

The waterfall trail winds up along the Ashiwen River through valleys and cliffs. Along the way, you can listen to the murmuring stream and gaze at the verdant valleys. The guardrails along the trail are carved with indigenous totems, exuding a strong Paiwan cultural vibe. The final viewpoint offers the best panoramic view of the waterfall, which has a drop of about 40 meters, cascading down from the cliff and fanning out beautifully.
