MRT carriages often surprise passengers with creative designs and decorations. From now until August 23, Zespri and Taipei Rapid Transit System have teamed up to bring the Kiwi Ice Snow Train to the Tamsui-Xinyi Line, offering all riders a cool and soothing energy to fight off the summer blues.

The Kiwi Ice Snow Train brings a taste of New Zealand’s winter to Taiwan. The carriages are primarily decorated in bright kiwi green, with playful creativity turning kiwis into adorable, healing animal illustrations. The train is divided into three winter wonderlands — Snow Angel, Glacier, and Snow Tracks — allowing passengers to experience different snowy scenes in New Zealand simply by moving through the carriages.
Couples joke around with their love tokens — little pigs — saying “Hi, my winter partner in crime!”
There are five popular photo spots: following kiwi footprints in the Tamsui carriage, boarding the train, sunbathing with cute sea otters on the glacier, playing with the Snow Angel by spreading your arms in the second carriage, meeting a kiwi bear lying on its back in the green snow, and taking photos with the lovebirds on the train doors.
Grab your floaties, put on your sunglasses, and drift with the sea otters on the glacier.
Look out the window to find uplifting slogans and charming animal illustrations that will make you smile — like “Open up and you might!” which encourages people to open their hearts to new joys in life.
