Bak kut teh is one of Singapore’s national dishes, and now Taiwan can also enjoy authentic Singapore-style bak kut teh. The renowned Teochew bak kut teh eatery “Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh” has officially launched in Taiwan. This marks the first overseas branch of Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh, combining its signature Singaporean broth recipe with carefully selected local Taiwanese ingredients, allowing Taiwanese consumers to savor the most authentic and freshest Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh right here in Taiwan.

The broth recipe of Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh contains no traditional Chinese medicinal herbs. Its key special ingredients are generous amounts of pepper, aged garlic, and pork ribs, simmered together to create a richly aromatic bak kut teh soup. With the first sip, the “fragrant” and “pungent” kick of the pepper hits the nose, making it truly delicious. The classic dish from Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh, “Premium Bak Kut Teh,” includes two specially selected pork ribs from Taiwan’s high-quality “Jiuhao Pork.” The meat is juicy and flavorful, with just the right balance of fat and lean, and can be easily pulled off the bone with a gentle touch—offering an excellent texture.

Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh’s first Taiwan branch introduces three popular set meals. The “Bak Kut Teh Meal” comes with youtiao (Chinese fried dough), a must-have for foodies, which can be dipped into the broth to soak up the flavor, delivering a unique taste, along with fragrant rice, and side dishes of marinated eggs and marinated tofu. Additionally, the “Signature Double Delight Meal” pairs with Teochew-style braised pork trotter cooked with various Chinese herbs, offering a rich and delicious taste with soft, tender meat that isn’t greasy. For those who love braised pork trotters, the “Braised Pork Trotter Meal” is also available.

To allow Taiwanese consumers to experience a taste of Singapore, the interior design of Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh’s first Taiwan branch retains elements of the Singaporean coffee shop style. It also replicates the signage of the original Singapore flagship store, paired with marble dining tables, Peranakan-style walls and floor tiles, as well as vintage ceiling fans—creating the atmosphere of dining in a Singaporean eatery.
