Inspired by her son’s doodles — flowers and frogs become creative Tokyo toasts

Cuteness always seems to break new boundaries in the hands of the Japanese. Following the runaway success of watermelon toast, a Tokyo bakery called Konel Bread has now launched even more adorable cartoon-themed toasts.

According to Lonely Planet, the creator of these creative toasts is a mom, and all the designs on the bread are inspired by her son’s casual doodles. Most importantly, the toasts are promoted as all-natural, with all flavors and colors derived from vegetables and cocoa.

These designs are made by layering colored doughs, featuring patterns of animals, insects, fruits, and, of course, popular cartoon characters. These toasts are not only mouthwatering but also feel like a trendy fashion statement.
