Wu Qingfeng, Ambassador for Taichung Flower Expo, Welcomes Trial Operation at Three Major Zones

2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition will take place from November 3 to April 24 of next year, with a trial operation beginning in September. The event is divided into three exhibition areas: Houli, Waipu, and Fengyuan, under the theme “Flowers Reveal GNP – Rediscover Green, Nature and People”, representing the concepts of Green for natural ecology, Nature for green production, and People for humanistic life.

The Taichung Flower Expo has scheduled its trial operation period from September 1 to October 28, 2018, and is offering pre-sale discounted tickets for NT$233, available for purchase from August until November 2. Residents with household registration in Taichung City can apply for a Flower Expo Card to enjoy one free entry and various discounts at affiliated stores.

The Taichung Flower Expo has invited the hottest “newcomer” Wu Qingfeng as its spokesperson, who has created a custom theme song titled “Please Listen”. Inspired by the idea of “listening to the sound of blooming flowers,” the song infuses warmth and vitality—not just the interaction between humans and nature, but also the sounds between people.

The expo has also invited PIKO Taro to serve as its promotional ambassador for Taichung, putting on an energetic performance of the Flower Expo version of “PPAP”: “I have a ichi (1), I have a chu, 1chu (homophone for ‘let’s go together’). I have a four, I have a ball, four ball (homophone for ‘Flower Expo’). 1chu 0 four ball 0. 1chu four ball (homophone for ‘let’s go to the Flower Expo together’)”. The aim is to leverage PIKO Taro’s fame to promote the Flower Expo and attract more Japanese tourists.

The Flower Expo zones are located across three administrative districts: Houli, Waipu, and Fengyuan. The Houli area is further divided into the Horse Ranch Zone and the Forest Zone. Across the four major zones—Houli Horse Ranch, Houli Forest, Waipu, and Fengyuan—the event presents four major themes: Flower Horse Paradise, Forest Garden, Floral Fruit Hometown, and Riverside Flower City, featuring a total of seven exhibition pavilions.
