August to September is the blooming season for golden needle flowers, and Liushitou Mountain in Fuli Township, Hualien County, is one of Taiwan’s three major golden needle flower cultivation areas. When the flowering season arrives, the vast golden sea of blossoms resembles a carpet laid out for angels, incredibly brilliant and beautiful.

Located on the Coastal Mountains east of Zhutian Village in Fuli Township, Liushitou Mountain sits at an altitude of about 800 meters. The blooming golden needle flowers follow the undulating slopes, forming a dazzling golden sea of flowers, complemented by the surrounding mountain scenery and blue sky with white clouds, presenting a breathtaking artistic landscape.

In addition to the golden needle flower sea that can be admired every August and September, Liushitou Mountain also boasts signature views such as sunsets and crepuscular rays. At night, you can even enjoy the Milky Way—a spectacle not visible in the city. To see the most beautiful panoramic view of Liushitou Mountain, head to the mountain’s highest point and best vantage spot, “Wangyou Pavilion.”

The 2018 Liushitou Mountain Golden Needle Flower Season officially kicked off on August 4. In addition to admiring the flower sea, there are also events such as the “Starlight Lighting Music Concert,” featuring melodious music and many beautiful creative light installations, allowing visitors to experience the wonderful nights of Liushitou Mountain.
