Taiwan’s highest-grossing Korean film, Along with the Gods, and its official sequel, Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days, premiered across Taiwan on August 8. To thank Taiwanese fans for their strong support of the first film, director Kim Yong-hwa led six main cast members—Ha Jung-woo, Ju Ji-hoon, Kim Hyang-gi, Ma Dong-seok, and Kim Dong-wook—to make a grand arrival in Taiwan on August 5. A star-studded red carpet meet-and-greet was held, attracting 3,000 fans to surround Taipei City Hall’s Civic Plaza. The overwhelming popularity left a deep impression on the five actors and the director.

The first installment of Along with the Gods grossed nearly NT$490 million in Taiwan, making it the highest-performing overseas market. Due to its impressive box office performance, Taiwan was specially chosen to host the Asian international press conference for the sequel, Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days.

At the start of the press conference, director Kim Yong-hwa led the main cast—Ha Jung-woo, Ju Ji-hoon, Kim Hyang-gi, Ma Dong-seok, and Kim Dong-wook—in warmly greeting the attending media, and couldn’t help but share their memorable interactions with passionate Taiwanese fans at the previous night’s red carpet event.
