Ito Junji Horror Experience Exhibition – Challenge This Summer’s Coolest Check-in Spot

The “Ito Junji Horror Experience Exhibition – Escape for Your Life” special exhibition held at Taipei Shin Kong Mitsukoshi A9 is based on 12 classic episodes from the anime adaptation of the manga series Ito Junji’s Selection of Horror Stories. It extracts key elements from the storylines to create a hyper-realistic haunted house experience, divided into Hall A, Hall B, a third exhibition area, and a souvenir zone – a must-visit for fans.

The two-hall scenario selects different episodes from Ito Junji’s Selection of Horror Stories, corresponding to specific plotlines and characters. Hall A represents “Terror Town,” featuring characters such as the town’s model representative En, Slug Girl, and the Cold Patient; Hall B represents chapters from “Farewell City,” including characters like Futakuchi, Vintage Records, and Neighbor Window. The ghosts and townsfolk in both Haunted Halls A and B deliver a top-tier five-sense horror experience, with an overwhelming sense of despair lingering at every turn, as if you’ve stepped into a living hell.

After experiencing both halls, visitors will enter the hidden third exhibition area, which recreates classic scenes from Ito Junji’s manga, presenting the terrifying roots of fear — such as the 1/42 version of “Tomie,” the mysterious crystals from “Long Dream,” and the wooden puppet Geppie from “Puppet Family.”

Meanwhile, the souvenir zone sells a variety of practical merchandise and food items related to Ito Junji’s manga. Additionally, next to the ticket booth on the first floor, there’s a hidden gem — the highly popular “Escape Photo Booth” (a sticker photo machine), where you can snap photos blending yourself with the characters through the lens. It’s one of the must-get souvenirs for fans.
