Although this tropical depression has not yet developed into a typhoon, the moisture it carries and the rainfall it generates are astonishing. Heavy torrential rain warnings have been issued for Kaohsiung, Pingtung, Tainan, and Chiayi; andTaichung, Changhua, Nantou, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Pingtunghave met the criteria for suspending work and classes, with suspension announced after 18:00 on the evening of August 23.Update: Chiayi County, Chiayi City, and Yunlin County will also suspend work and classes on the evening of August 23.

In addition to the four aforementioned areas experiencing heavy torrential rain, there is a probability of localized heavy rain or torrential rain on August 23 in Taichung through Yunlin, Nantou, Taitung, and Penghu, as well as in mountainous areas of Miaoli. There is also a probability of localized heavy rain in flatland areas of Miaoli, as well as in mountainous areas of New Taipei, Yilan, and Hualien.
On August 24, there is a probability of showers or thunderstorms in central and southern Taiwan and Penghu, with a chance of localized torrential rain or higher levels. Other regions and Kinmen and Matsu may experience brief showers or thunderstorms, along with a possibility of localized heavy rain or torrential rain, so extra caution is advised.
