The Nighttime Pearl by the Bazhang River: The Mituo Moon-Reflecting Bridge Officially Opens

Chiayi City Government has constructed a pedestrian landscape cable-stayed bridge named the "Mituo Moon-Reflecting Bridge" by the Bazhang River. The bridge has a total length of 222 meters, a main span of 115 meters across the river, and a height of 50 meters, making it a new landmark of Chiayi.

This bridge has been eagerly anticipated by local residents, who hope it will revive the former "Egret Bridge Watching Waves," one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Zhuluo. By day, the elegant curve of the single-tower cable-stayed structure shines gracefully, while at night, the illuminated bridge creates a stunning light show—beautiful around the clock and set to become Chiayi’s most captivating gateway.

The Mituo Moon-Reflecting Bridge is a scenic bridge spanning Chiayi County and City, connecting nearby attractions such as the Golden Bell Tree Trail and the riverside park, offering panoramic views of the entire Bazhang River.

Construction has begun on the new landscape plaza surrounding the bridge, which will be developed in coordination with the Fifth River Management Office’s “Charming River Section Project.” The surrounding environment is expected to be completely transformed in the future.

When illuminated at night, the bridge glows brilliantly over the Bazhang River, with the water reflecting the lights back, creating an incredibly romantic atmosphere.
