Autumn winds are perfect for flying kites. The originally scheduled “2018 New Taipei City North Coast International Kite Festival” on September 29 was postponed to September 30 (Sunday) and will be held at Baishawan in Shimen District, New Taipei City.

The sky is filled with all kinds of distinctive-shaped kites, soft kites, and stunt kites.
This year marks the 19th edition of the New Taipei City North Coast International Kite Festival. Led by the Asian International Kite Federation, teams from Germany, the United States, Japan, Thailand, India, Macau, Shanghai, Wuhan, along with top local kite flyers, have gathered. Over 20 teams and nearly 100 domestic and international kite experts are participating to share kite craftsmanship and cultural exchange.
The North Coast International Kite Festival attracts numerous domestic and international tourists every year.
A wide variety of uniquely designed shape kites, soft kites, and stunt kites fill the skies together, transforming the North Coast into a colorful and bustling kite party, along with adorable and creative cartoon-themed kites.
There’s also super cute autumn-themed food, including a giant kite shaped like a New Taipei Wanli crab.
The event also invites Yoghurt Sister from the momo family and cartoon star Liangliang to join the fun—perfect for bringing kids outdoors.
