1. Ten Rooms Teahouse
This small teahouse sits at the alley entrance near Songshan. With its beige exterior and translucent glass windows, its minimalist modern style perfectly reflects the philosophy of Ten Rooms Teahouse: “When brewing tea, the world becomes simple.” The owner, from Nantou — the fifth generation of a tea plantation family where everyone is a tea master — came to Taipei hoping to share the pure beauty of tea with city dwellers.

There aren’t many tables and chairs inside Ten Rooms Teahouse. The spacious counter is the centerpiece, with simple seating along the windows offering a warm and inviting ambiance in the soft sunlight. Teas here range from NT$100 to NT$1,000, but the most eye-catching are the drinks served in wine bottles — looking both elegant and chic.

2. Sanjing Jiuhuang
Nestled in an alley near Songshan Tobacco Factory, Sanjing Jiuhuang is as beautiful as poetry. The Eastern vibe is refined and unconventional, drawing inspiration from the hermit spirit of Tao Yuanming. The interior is simple yet thoughtfully designed, featuring a concrete counter and wooden seating. Transparent floor-to-ceiling windows attract passersby with the atmosphere radiating from the teahouse.

The teahouse specializes in brewing tea over traditional charcoal stoves. The slow simmering process highlights the depth and flavor of the tea. Every piece of tableware is meticulously chosen, reflecting the owner’s attention to detail. Beyond just enjoying tea, the space also integrates stylish lifestyle items and occasionally hosts exhibitions and performances, filling the tea-drinking environment with a rich artistic ambiance.
