Crystal-clear Ligurian Sea waters and pastel-hued cliffside fishing villages

Cinque Terre, also known as the Five Villages, consists of five ancient fishing villages within the Cinque Terre National Park, located along the coast of Italy’s La Spezia Province. Today, we’re introducing one of them—“Manarola.”

Traditionally, the main industries of Manarola were fishing and winemaking. In recent years, Manarola and nearby towns have become extremely popular tourist destinations, especially in the summer. Highlights here include the famous Via dell’Amore and nearby vineyards.

Summer brings a steady stream of tourists to the village, and aside from its picturesque charm, the blazing sunshine is also a major draw. Bring your own towel and snacks, find a sunlit spot on the ground, and lounge under the direct rays of the sun.

The dazzling sunlight dances across the deep blue waters of the Ligurian Sea. For those who can’t take too much sun exposure, the refreshing seawater is equally irresistible—diving into the sea is undoubtedly the best way to cool off in summer.

Colorful boats line the small harbor of the fishing village. Locals still share the sea’s resources and use these boats to communicate and travel to nearby villages. Of course, if you’d like to explore the sea for sightseeing, you can talk to local vendors about taking a boat ride to admire the beauty of the villages from a different perspective.
