Located in Shuins Smart City, Central Park utilizes landscape elements such as vegetation, water, soil, and air, and integrates Waldorf educational philosophy by bringing the concept of the “twelve senses” to life within the park. It aims to create an iconic landscape that is innovative, smart, and fully utilizes green energy, with trial operations expected to begin in mid-October.
During the development of Central Park, five retention basins were planned to detain rainwater according to varying rainfall levels. The use of larger public land areas as flood detention spaces not only increases the green coverage rate but also leverages the water-retention properties of plants to slow down water flow within the park. This enhances ground permeability, allowing rainwater to seep underground, reducing surface runoff while conserving water resources.
Among them, four basins are designed as dry wetlands that can serve as public spaces during normal times and filter and infiltrate rainwater into the groundwater layer during flood seasons, achieving both water conservation and flood discharge.
Additionally, the park has installed solar photovoltaic panels to achieve self-sufficient power supply within the park. Recycled water treated by the park’s water resource treatment center is used for irrigation of all planted areas, realizing the goal of water recycling.
Surrounding the park, well-known brands such as Starbucks and McDonald’s have already set up shop, and sports retailer Decathlon has established its largest flagship store in Taiwan. Other chain groups such as Sushiro and Karuizawa also have a presence here.
