Soak in hot springs and join the street parade when it’s cold—the Evergreen Hot Spring Season has arrived!

The “2018 Yilan Evergreen Hot Spring Season” features “Ten Major Theme Activities,” including the opening ceremony and the thousand-person street parade, youth star dance party, hot spring wellness lectures, seniors’ karaoke party, parent-child interactive classes, the final of the yukata design voting activity, parent-child party park and cultural creative market, as well as the closing & lucky draw event. From October 22 to October 25 in the evening at 6 PM, there will also be a “BBQ Moonlight Party,” featuring performances by renowned DJs.

On October 19 and October 20 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, there will also be the highly anticipated “Music PARTY” on Jiaoxi Hot Spring Road and Health Road, featuring performances by famous artists such as Jolin Tsai, Fish Leong, New Formosa Band, Namewee, BOXING, Katie Chou, Hush, and Taiwan Power Company.

This year, local designer Teacher Tseng Shu-mei has been specially invited to design two types of yukatas for the event, incorporating elements of Yilan’s Guishan Island and the county flower, the national orchid, into the yukata designs. These will be worn by the street parade participants as they all dance the hot spring dance together.

This year’s parade is divided into corporate teams and community teams. The community teams include the 12 township Lao Laibao communities and local Jiaoxi community groups, who will perform the street parade hot spring dance together, dancing out the spirit that hot spring soaking knows no age or season. The corporate teams will compete in a contest format, with the top three teams selected and prize money of up to NT$60,000. Participating corporate parade teams include: Yilan County Hotel Business Association, Guanxiang Century Hot Spring Resort, Futa Jiaoxi Yamagata Pavilion Hotel, Evergreen Swan Lake Hotel, Village Hotel International Hot Spring Hotel, Zhongtian Hot Spring Resort Hotel, Jiaoxi Hanmu Hotel, Yilan Lihli The Westin Resort, J Style Hotel Jiaoxi, and Hotel Royal Jiaoxi.
