The hot spring season events in various hot spring areas across northern Taiwan kicked off one after another in mid-October. The “2018 Yilan Eternal Youth Hot Spring Festival” in the Jiaoxi Hot Spring area was held grandly at Jiaoxi Hot Spring Park from October 13 to 28, featuring exciting activities such as street parades, music parties, and BBQ moonlight evenings.
The “2018 Wulai Best Springs Green Journey” event in the Wulai Hot Spring area took place from October 13 to 21. Take a break and wander through this mountain town, escape PM2.5, and enjoy a healing journey for both body and mind.
2018 Taipei Hot Spring Season
Then, from November 1 to 5, the “2018 Taipei Hot Spring Season” grandly opened on Qixing Street next to Xinbeitou MRT Station. The theme of the event was “Famous Springs Bay Feast – Spring Water Blessing Festival.” In addition to a rich variety of exhibition booths, there were also lively events such as a children’s mikoshi street parade, a yukata design competition full of Xinbeitou cultural memories, and a Nangka Star PK contest. Come to northern Taiwan this fall and winter to soak in great springs, enjoy delicious food, and experience a heartwarming and bustling trip.
Each hot spring area in northern Taiwan has its own unique charm. For example, the Xinbeitou Hot Spring area, which is full of Japanese-style ambiance and can be reached by MRT; the Jinshan Wanli Hot Spring area, nestled between mountains and sea with diverse spring water qualities and fresh seafood; the Jiaoxi Hot Spring area on the Lanyang Plain, abundant in hot spring-grown fruits and vegetables; the Wulai Hot Spring area, home to the Atayal tribe and rich in phytoncides; as well as the Yangmingshan and Shamushan Hot Spring areas, known for their spectacular geological landscapes and rich ecology. The hot spring wellness season activities in these six major hot spring hubs will continue until June 2019.
