The “2018 Taroko Gorge Music Festival” takes place this Saturday in Taroko. The Taroko National Park Headquarters has arranged free shuttle buses from Xincheng Station to the event venue. Just take a train or drive to Xincheng Station, then transfer to the dedicated shuttle bus for an easy trip to Taroko to enjoy great music.

The Taroko Gorge Music Festival, taking place on October 20, is divided into morning and afternoon sessions. At 10:00 a.m., performances will be given by the locally-based “Valley Duet” from Taroko, the “Amis Gagin Ensemble,” which uses percussion to convey Amis culture, and the “Valley String Quartet.”

In the afternoon session starting at 2:00 p.m., there will be performances by the Taroko Elementary School Dance Team, which blends traditional Taroko dance with innovative spirit, the “Fan Zongpei Ensemble,” Atayal Golden Melody Award-winning singer “Yunisih,” and “Roserange & Lone Wolf Ensemble.” With a strong lineup, an exciting show is expected.
The Valley String Quartet is formed by four highly skilled musicians.
Shuttle bus service for the morning session runs from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. from Xincheng Station to the Taroko Plateau, and from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. from the Taroko Plateau back to Xincheng Station. For the afternoon session, shuttles run from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. from Xincheng Station to the Taroko Plateau, and after the festival ends, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. from the Taroko Plateau back to Xincheng Station. Buses run approximately every 10–12 minutes without stopping along the way.

On the day of the event, the Taroko Plateau will have traffic control from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with vehicle access prohibited. If you can’t make it in person, you can also watch the live performances on the Taroko Gorge Music Festival’s Facebook fan page via mobile device or computer.
