The “AI Taoyuan Robotics Competition X Tourist Factories X Startup Carnival” will be held grandly at Taoyuan Arena from October 19 to 21, with free admission. The event features three major themes: the All-Round Robotics International Invitational, tourist factory DIY workshops, and the Startup Carnival.

The robotics competition spans four domains — land, sea, air, and makers — gathering elite participants from the United States, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and more. With 38 competition events, approximately 1,500 teams from both domestic and international backgrounds will take part in these robotic contests. Ranging from assembly to mechatronics integration, sixteen different levels of competitions showcase cross-disciplinary skills and team-based rivalry, with over NT$1.2 million in total prize money on offer.

The robotics competitions include land-based unmanned vehicle obstacle races, sumo robot races, demonstrating cross-domain prowess; water-based events feature dragon boat speed races and aquatic rowing, showcasing mechatronics skills amid environmental variables; drone racing takes place on the arena’s track field, delivering visual thrills with speeds up to 140 km/h.

Tourist factories across Taoyuan invite 30 tourist venues to offer exhibition and experience activities, featuring various unique experiences. In conjunction with creative DIY workshops for all, 1,500 families can register for free robot DIY experiences. Other interactive activities include free storytelling sessions for families at tourist factories, point collection games, and giant Jenga. The site also features food trucks, live band performances, and street artist shows.

The startup carnival exhibition area is divided into three themes, pooling the energy of Taoyuan’s startup ecosystem. Themed zones focus on IoT, AI, and AR/VR, with five main exhibition areas including artificial intelligence, virtual reality, Internet of Things, maker spaces, and technology transfer & R&D. A total of 150 startup teams are participating.
