For exhibition setup and equipment maintenance, the Liuchuan riverside area (from Taiwan Boulevard to Minquan Road) will be closed for 14 days starting October 10 until October 23 this year, during which entry is prohibited. The Lüchan riverside is also undergoing setup work, but for convenience, both sidewalks will remain open.
The renovated beauty of Lüchan River has attracted many visitors, revitalizing downtown Taichung.
In the past, creative art light exhibitions along Liuchuan and Lüchan Rivers were highly praised. This year is different—the theme is “Art Journey Along Green and Liuchuan Rivers.” Seven young artists have been invited to create environmental art using the two rivers as their canvas. In Liuchuan, they conceptualized works like “Sun Shadow,” “Lily Hundred Rivers,” and “Common Birdwing”; in Lüchan, they produced “Lüchan Scroll,” “Scenery in the Night Sky,” “Flying Fish,” and “River River,” totaling seven nature-themed artworks.

Incorporating elements of the Taichung Flower Expo logo, a floral archway light corridor has been created along Liuchuan, recreating the romantic waterway ambiance of both rivers. On October 27, a lighting-up concert will be held at Liuchuan, featuring performances by heavyweights “Chen f” and “New Formosa Band,” along with several emerging Taichung-based musicians, all joining in this riverside musical extravaganza to illuminate the old city’s waterfront.
