Around 12:34 on October 23, a noticeable earthquake occurred near the eastern waters. The epicenter was located 104.2 km east of Hualien County Government.Depth: 31.3 km.Tremors were felt in multiple areas across Taiwan.

A magnitude 5.7 earthquake was felt again in the early hours of October 24 at 00:04, with the epicenterlocated 106.1 km east of Hualien County Government, at a depth of 29.4 km.

An earthquake was felt at 00:04 on October 24.
The quake caused fairly intense and obvious shaking, startling many people. As for whether there is any damage in various areas, reports are still awaited. Particular attention should be paid to the operations of the high-speed rail and Taiwan Railways; currently, Taiwan Railways reports all lines are running normally.
