The “2018 Asia-Pacific Cultural Day” was grandly held on October 27 and October 28 in the multi-functional performance area of the first-floor hall of Taipei Main Station, offering a two-day cultural experience featuring the diverse cultures, arts, music, and cuisines of 19 countries from Asia and the Pacific.

A total of 19 Asia-Pacific institutions in Taiwan participated in the event, including embassies from six diplomatic allies in the South Pacific region—Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, the Solomon Islands, and Tuvalu—as well as representatives from Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Thailand was one of the participating countries. In addition to booths and food, the Asia-Pacific Cultural Day also featured artistic performances.

In addition, seven city and county governments in Taiwan—Taipei City, Kaohsiung City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Taichung City, Tainan City, and Hsinchu County—that have established sister-city or friendly-city relationships with the target countries of the “New Southbound Policy” also took part, providing local cultural experiences. Through the Asia-Pacific Cultural Day, participants could engage in exchanges with countries across Asia and the Pacific and immerse themselves in foreign cultures.
