The center of Typhoon Jade Rabbit is located at 15.90°N latitude, 144.10°E longitude, approximately 2,600 kilometers southeast of Hengchun Eluanbi, moving northwestward at a speed of 19 km/h, with maximum instantaneous gusts reaching 75 meters per second, surpassing the 17-level strong destructive wind force defined by the Beaufort Scale.
Due to the influence of the Pacific High, its path is highly likely to turn northward south of the Ryukyu Islands, similar to the paths of previous typhoons. Attention should be paid to the frontal systems and rainfall it may bring as it approaches Taiwan.
Aside from scattered rain in the north on Friday and rain in the east, the current weekend forecast shows mostly cloudy to sunny weather across Taiwan.
