Attention all cherry blossom lovers: Following the recent blooms of Kawazu-zakura in Xigeding, Fenqihu, and Zhangshuhu, the cherry blossoms at Alishan are now being taken over by the park’s Beni-shidare-zakura and Aguei-zakura. Travelers eager to admire the flowers should seize the moment!

Currently, cherry blossoms in the Alishan Scenic Area are gradually coming into full bloom. In addition to cherry blossoms, other blooms such as crabapple and white magnolia are also entering their prime, allowing travelers to enjoy them all in one go.

According to Alishan, Wandering Among the Clouds, from now until the Lunar New Year, the main cherry blossom varieties on Alishan will include Beni-shidare-zakura, Ryukyu Beni-shidare-zakura, Formosan cherry, and Aguei-zakura.

Beni-shidare-zakura, or mountain cherry, can be found along the Alishan Highway up to Alishan National Forest Recreation Area, with blooming expected to last until late March.

Ryukyu Beni-shidare-zakura can mostly be seen around the Erwanping Youth Activity Center, Xianglin Service Area, and Zhushan Sunrise Trail, with their blooming period lasting until the end of February.
