Asia's Largest Handicrafts Expo: Sneak Peek at Four Local Featured Shops

POP UP ASIA 2018, the Asian Handicrafts Expo, will be held from November 15 to 18 at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei, featuring exhibitors from over 20 Asian cities and bringing together 300 domestic and international handmade creative brands and 200 hands-on experience workshops. The event will fully showcase the characteristics and diversity of handmade crafts. Below are introductions to four local featured handicraft shops.

1.Good Yun DesignStudio Chiia
Good Yun Design Studio Chiia is a brand and color studio founded by designer Chiia, who graduated from the Textile Studies program at Chelsea College of Arts in London.

The studio’s main creations revolve around knitted and printed product designs, as well as the application of colors. The store itself is also her workspace, where many creations are completed by hand using traditional machines to produce design samples.

The products adhere to the philosophy of benefiting both the environment and people. The 2018 collection “Printed Design Background Pattern Island / Patterned Island” combines natural outlines with man-made architectural designs to create patterns, which are then printed on fabric and woven into textures. Colors and shapes are used to outline a touch of scenery that moves through urban life.

2.Dachun Lian Soap
In 1950, Grandpa Li Shuitu started a “Shui Ji Hao” grocery store in Dadaocheng. After the war, when the Japanese left Taiwan, he took over “Dachun Lian Soap” from the Japanese, launching the soap production and sales business. He operated with integrity and expanded the business based on his principles.
