When deep autumn arrives, viewing maple leaves becomes the hottest travel topic, and Taiwan boasts some truly stunning maple leaf destinations. Amid its picturesque mountains and rivers, strolling along romantic foliage trails offers an atmosphere that rivals that of Japan. Travelers can take advantage of the cool weather to plan a short mountain trip to admire the fall colors.

Located near Wuling Farm, Fushoushan Farm has different sea of flowers to enjoy in every season, and of course, the most beautiful autumn red leaves are a must-see.

For maple leaf viewing at Fushoushan Farm, “Yuanyang Lake” and “Songlu” are highly recommended, with over 20 varieties of maple trees planted along the trails.

Songlu was once the residence of President Chiang Ching-kuo and has since been transformed into lodging at Fushoushan Farm. Its unique traditional sanheyuan wooden architecture is a must-photo spot.

As temperatures begin to drop in autumn, the nighttime temperature at Fushoushan is around 10–15°C. The purple-leaved maples at Yuanyang Lake are the first to change color, with those facing the wind already starting to turn.
