The Amazing 1/100 Miniature World of People: The Healing Special Exhibition by Noriki Terada

Over 100 paper model artworks have made their way across the ocean from Japan to Taiwan for their very first exhibition here. Noriki Terada, who has held numerous exhibitions in Japan, is not only making his Taiwan debut with this show, but also exhibiting his works on such a large scale overseas for the very first time.

This exhibition specially enlarges the miniature cherry blossom paper models proportionally to create an endless cherry blossom forest—their beauty so lifelike, it's hard to believe they’re not real, resembling eternal cherry blossom trees that bloom in all seasons.

The delicate miniature paper artworks carefully select well-known pieces from Terada’s paper models, such as the “Momotarō” (Peach Boy) and “Snow White” series, recreating fairy tale scenes in real-life proportions, immersing visitors in a dreamlike fantasy world.

The paper models aren’t just static artworks—by incorporating stop-motion animation techniques, the miniatures come vibrantly to life. Whether it’s using 3,000 miniatures to depict the flow of commuters on the Tokyo Metro, or crafting 80,000 tiny rice seedlings to portray a lush green rice field, the combination of expert animation technology and paper model art results in incredibly lifelike short films.
