The “Leisurely Scenery Painting – Special Exhibition of Russia’s Pushkin Museum,” jointly organized by the Palace Museum, the Pushkin Museum, and United Digital Culture Creation, officially opened on November 17. The exhibition features works by 48 master artists and, for the first time, brings Claude Monet’s famous painting “Luncheon on the Grass” to Taiwan.

The Pushkin Museum, located in Moscow, Russia, is renowned for its collection of French masterpieces. The “Pushkin Museum Special Exhibition” began a one-year world tour last year, with Taiwan being the final stop.

This exhibition gathers 65 masterpieces by 48 renowned artists from the 17th to the 20th century, focusing on important works by 19th-century Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painters, with a total value exceeding NT$25 billion.

The exhibition is divided into six major themes: The Origins of Modern Landscape Painting, Odes to Nature, The Light and Shadows of Paris, Natural Scenes in the Suburbs, The Radiant Landscapes of Southern France, and the Imaginative Worlds Overseas, guiding visitors through the evolution and history of modern French landscape art.
The exhibition features as many as 65 artworks for the public to appreciate in detail.
The exhibition carefully selects works by heavyweight masters from the museum’s collection, including French landscape artists from the Baroque period such as Claude Lorrain, Rococo master François Boucher, Barbizon School painter Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, and Impressionists such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Paul Gauguin, and Henri Rousseau.
