On this sunny day in Alishan, we set off on a forest railway journey with eager and joyful anticipation—from the bamboo-style cypress nostalgia station building at Zhushan, to the Fenchihu lunchbox mountain town, all the way to the Shuisheiao coffee train. The long-awaited Alishan Forest Railway themed train now departs every Wednesday starting in November, allowing travelers to experience a unique side of Alishan’s forestry railway.

Alishan Forest Railway’s unique switchback stations require passing themed trains to enter a siding and wait for the mainline train to pass before returning to the main track and continuing their journey.
