Kyoto’s iconic wagashi shop “Bosen-do” is the designated confectioner for Kyoto’s renowned thousand-year-old “Kamigamo Shrine” (also known as Kamomioya Shrine). Its tea house, Bosen, is ranked among Japan’s top 10 most delicious desserts in the country’s list of the 50 best sweets.

It is scheduled to launch a pop-up in Taiwan on July 20 and will be featured at the ABBA Group in Taichung, showcasing its centuries-old wagashi-making craftsmanship.

2. Korea’s Popular Sandwich Shop Isaac Toast & coffee
Sandwich specialty chain Isaac Toast & coffee is practically a must-try when traveling to Korea. Not sure what to have for breakfast? This is the answer. The brand is popping up in Taiwan from July 18 for 10 days at SOGO Zhongxiao Branch, and it’s expected to open a permanent branch in Taipei soon.

3. Tainan – Quanwei’s Ice Cream
Tainan’s famous ice cream brand “Quanwei’s Ice Cream,” a must-visit when in Tainan, is making another summer trip this year, popping up for two months at Taichung’s Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Greenery Mall, from now until September 4. Now, Tainan residents won’t need to travel far to enjoy its delicious ice cream.

4. Kyoto – Nenohana Shoubuin
From the famed Kyoto café Nenohana Shoubuin, a pop-up counter is set up on the first floor of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi A9 from now until August 31, selling signature items such as Golden Legend (original and matcha flavors), Moon Illusion (original and matcha flavors), sponge cake crunch sticks, and Layered (matcha flavor).

The pop-up counter is just a prelude to Nenohana Shoubuin’s future plans. Reports say they are currently negotiating with Shin Kong Mitsukoshi for a permanent store location, which will offer a larger space.
