2018 Taipei International Travel Fair – 7 Must-See Promotional Highlights

Taiwan’s premier travel event of the year, the 2018 Taipei International Travel Fair opened grandly on November 23 at the first floor of Hall 1, Nangang Exhibition Center, Taipei. This year’s fair combined mobile food trucks and camping experiences, and for the first time featured street performers. Moreover, the highly anticipated gift bag exchange for purchases over a certain amount offered round-trip tickets to global flight destinations and five-star hotel vouchers, with 1,000 limited spots available daily, making it the last major travel promotion of the year.

1.Enhancing exhibition quality
Focusing on travel photography, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau invited HAO ZI, host of Foodie Show, to share his journey of wandering at 4 PM on November 24. They also brought in Erica, winner of the U.S. IPPAwards iPhone Photography Awards, to teach how to take perfect travel photos with a smartphone. Additionally, author Liu Kechuang was invited at 11 AM on November 24 to talk about “The Small Towns You Don’t Know,” introducing Taiwan’s fascinating people and landscapes.

2.Family fun for all ages

To allow parents with children to visit the fair with ease and peace of mind, children under the age of 6 can enter for free. A family experience area has been set up on the fourth floor of Hall 1, Nangang Exhibition Center, featuring a reading corner, board game zone, and slide play area, stocked with children’s books, toys, pinball machines, and more—perfect for family fun together.

3.First-ever travel fair relaxation zone
During the fair from 10 AM to 5 PM, a rest area on the first floor offers shoulder and neck massage services so visitors can relax after a long day of browsing and shopping. Various street performers will also be stationed at the rest areas, including wicker toy makers, spinning top artists, quick portrait sketchers, saw musicians, and dough figurine artists, offering diverse experiences for visitors.
 
4.Travel carnival kicks off
Performance troupes from various countries captivate audiences with eye-catching shows. The beloved Japanese “Edo Strawberry Girls” and the ultra-popular Kumamon, the official mascot of Kumamoto Prefecture, will both perform on the main stage. In addition, South Korea’s NC Dinos cheerleading squad “Rally Dinos” will bring energetic dance performances, along with performances by Malaysia’s “Wondy Performing Arts Dance Troupe,” as well as shows from Russia, Guam, and other countries.
