Ding Gua Gua opened at 10:45 AM on November 28 in New York, drawing significant consumer attention and purchases. The brand also partnered with KUNG FU TEA to offer drinks, including Taiwan’s iconic bubble milk tea, as well as honey green tea, leading the “trendy” wave of Taiwanese tea.
Ding Gua Gua and Kung Fu Tea have launched combo meal sets.
To celebrate the opening of its New York branch, Ding Gua Gua even offered promotions at all its Taiwan outlets from November 30 to December 2 (10% off à la carte items, 5% off combo meals). Many consumers were surprised to see Ding Gua Gua becoming a source of pride for Taiwan, actively expanding overseas.
The opening attracted an incredibly long queue.
Since the opening of its first chain store – the Ximen branch – Ding Gua Gua has been around for 45 years. After entering the Shanghai market in December 2017, it further expanded to New York, USA, in 2018. In addition to fried chicken and bubble milk tea, popular sweet potato fries and the classic Guagua Burger are also top-selling items promoted by Ding Gua Gua.
Kung Fu Tea, founded by four Taiwanese individuals, already has over 200 branches in the United States.
Upholding the belief that where there are Chinese people, there should be Ding Gua Gua, the brand has gradually transformed and ventured into the international market. The high popularity of its New York store shows the trend led by Taiwanese cuisine.
An eco-friendly cup tote bag has also been issued.
