The Liu Chuan Christmas tree was also designed by ZAMAMA Dashi, a representative of artistic roots in the old city area of Taichung, who incorporated the imagery of the Taichung Flower Expo into Liu Chuan by installing a 9-meter-tall Christmas tree in the river channel. The lighting time is every evening at 7:00 p.m.
The tree’s lighting features the colors of the mountain cherry blossom, which symbolizes Taichung’s city flower, as well as hues from the four major flowers produced abundantly in Taichung — lilies, anthuriums, oncidiums, and gladioli. These are enhanced with lighting to create an image of flowing streams and vibrant blooms. Multiple layers of floral light panels are arranged in sequence, symbolizing the continuous flow of Liu Chuan, while each layer of decorative lighting also represents a growing anticipation for the flower expo.
The Liu Chuan exhibition activities focus on “environmental art.” Whether in shape, scenery, or materials, everything is derived from nature. It also invites several young artists to showcase creations such as “Sun Shadow,” “Lily & Hundred Rivers,” and “Common Birdwing,” guiding the public to appreciate the city’s green landscapes from different perspectives.

The Fengyuan Huludun Canal Christmas tree, which will be lit on December 8, was designed by Luke, CEO of Nordic Design Consultants Co., Ltd., a firm that has won numerous top global design awards. The tree stands 8 meters tall and is constructed from a steel frame, laser-cut hollow designs, spray paint, acrylic, light panels, and LED color lights, integrating cross-industry innovative materials.
