Vincent van Gogh was a pioneer of Expressionism, and his works have profoundly influenced 20th-century art. To commemorate the 125th anniversary of Van Gogh’s death, Finnish artist Daan Roosegaarde recently created a glowing bike path called “Van Gogh Roosegaarde” in Brabant, the Netherlands—Van Gogh’s birthplace—inspired by his masterpiece *The Starry Night*.

Van Gogh Roosegaarde is made up of over 50,000 special stones that absorb solar energy during the day and slowly release the stored energy at night, emitting blue and green lights to illuminate the path.
The designer specifically arranged the stones into the swirling starry sky pattern from *The Starry Night*, vividly bringing out the contours of the famous painting. With every step, visitors feel as if they are walking among the stars. Many have said this bike path is like a bridge connecting modern technology with a century-old masterpiece.
