Taiwan is also known as the "Treasure Island." For Japanese anime fans, you probably wish you could move to Taiwan and live there for a few months. From now until March 29, various Japanese anime exhibitions will be popping up all over Taipei. Whether it’s the intense "Attack on Titan" or the heartwarming "Gudetama" and "Tarepanda," there's something for everyone. Most venues are also near MRT stations, so even if you walk until your feet hurt, you can still enjoy a relaxing time afterward.
1. Attack on Titan Exhibition
"Attack on Titan" has earned its place at Universal Studios Japan, and its popularity is beyond doubt. This time, the venue will feature famous scenes from the series, along with immersive "attack" experience theaters created using a combination of visuals, lighting, and sound effects. Alongside the classic life-sized "Colossal Titan" and real-life recreations such as the basement and Grisha Yeager’s laboratory from the manga, fans are sure to be thrilled. But the best is yet to come — in addition to original manuscripts and notes from creator Hajime Isayama, there will also be a groundbreaking 360° sensory theater called "Roar," where you can enter the virtual anime world with a head-mounted display and join the battle against the Titans. Of course, there will also be exclusive merchandise available on-site!

2. Gudetama “Too Lazy” Exhibition
The charm of Gudetama lies in its laid-back vibe, but you won’t believe that Ob has brought cosplay to this Taiwan exhibition. With two floors and five zones, there are countless photo spots. Must-sees include Gudetama dressed as the Jade Emperor, selling betel nuts in a bikini at the Gudetama Night Market, and even pretending to be an unlicensed greenish-yellow doctor. The cuteness level is off the charts. There’s also a snack stall at the exit where you can literally devour Gudetama... egg cakes, that is!

3. Detective Conan 20th Anniversary Exhibition
If you think you have the brains of Detective Conan, this exhibition should be no challenge for you. The manga has been serialized for 20 years, and Shinichi Kudo and Conan Edogawa have never appeared in the same space — until now. For the 20th anniversary, specially crafted life-sized figures of "Conan x Shinichi" greet visitors at the entrance. Inside, you’ll find realistic recreations of crime scenes, including "bloodstains" and "traces of fights" that make it feel like a real murder has taken place. And if you want to see the original manuscripts, you’ll need to put your brain to work. The exhibition features an interactive zone where attendees receive a detective handbook and must solve a case to access the manuscript area.

4. One Piece 15th Anniversary Exhibition
The symbol of passion, One Piece, is already 15 years old this year. This anniversary exhibition features four zones, including never-before-seen behind-the-scenes animation footage, Taiwan’s first-ever 3D diorama displays, and fun interactive games. Must-see spots include the giant Thousand Sunny ship, life-sized pirate crew models, and an adventure scene from the “New World”!

5. Rilakkuma Sweet Time Exhibition
Rilakkuma comes in a variety of adorable designs that almost every girl will find charming. This large-scale solo exhibition showcases nearly 100 original design drafts of Rilakkuma, revealed to the public for the first time. It also includes an interactive picture book integrating motion-sensing technology to introduce Rilakkuma from multiple perspectives. As for limited-edition merchandise—expect your travel memory card to be filled to the brim.
