“Every summer I head to the beach!” During the scorching summer months, playing in the water or surfing at a beach is both refreshing and exhilarating. Surrounded by the ocean on all sides, Taiwan boasts representative beaches from south to north. In addition, delights like the box lunches in Fulong and the giant shaved ice in Gushan’s West Bay are the perfect treats to pair with water activities.

Beaches across Taiwan not only vary in terrain but also feature different sand types and suitable water activities. ETtoday Travel Cloud has compiled a list of representative beaches nationwide, including Fulong, Cijin, and Kenting, so the public can follow the summer vibe and explore them all.

【Xinjinshan Beach】
The crescent-shaped Xinjinshan Beach, located in Jinshan District, New Taipei City, features about 500 meters of golden, fine sand. In addition to water activities, many also enjoy the challenge of beach volleyball here.

【Baishawan】
Located in Shimen, Baishawan Beach stretches about 1 kilometer and is equipped with comprehensive recreational facilities. Activities like windsurfing and diving can be arranged here, and you might even spot paragliders in the sky. It’s one of the most popular beaches in northern Taiwan.

【Jade Bay】
Jade Bay in Wanli District, New Taipei City, is a resort offering a variety of water activities. Water skiing, surfing, and parasailing are all popular here. The nearby European-style buildings often serve as picturesque backdrops for wedding photos.

【Fulong Beach】
Fulong Beach in Gongliao is beloved by travelers for its fine white sand. The Fulong box lunches sold in front of the train station are also a favorite meal for visitors. The annual Fulong Sand Sculpture Festival is also a major highlight of Taiwanese tourism.

【Tongxiao Beach】
Thanks to operator efforts, Tongxiao Beach in Miaoli now features new attractions such as inflatable pools and water-jumping games. Visitors can also camp or have barbecues here, making it ideal for family outings.

【Cijin Beach (West Bay)】
Surrounding West Bay Beach are attractions like the Former British Consulate at Takao and National Sun Yat-sen University. The sunset view is a must-see for many overseas visitors. On the old street in Yancheng District, you can enjoy the famous giant shaved ice. 【Qiji Beach】
About 40 kilometers from downtown Hualien, Qiji Beach features a sandy shore nearly 3 kilometers long. It’s a hotspot for surfers on Taiwan’s east coast, while the nearby coastal reefs attract many anglers.

【Qingzhou Waterfront Recreation Area】
Located in Dapeng Bay, Pingtung, Qingzhou Waterfront Recreation Area offers water activities like jet skis, banana boats, and windsurfing. You can even race dune buggies on the beach, providing an alternative thrill for adventure seekers.
