Most travelers seeing the words “viewpoint” on a map wonder if the scenery is really that spectacular. But in Norway, what’s special isn’t just its breathtaking fjords and glaciers — it’s also a uniquely designed viewing platform.
Located in Gaularfjell is a highly futuristic triangular viewpoint (Viewpoint Gaularfjell). Due to its unique structure, the platform faces north, south, and west, and visitors can even walk up the stairs to the almost suspended corner to enjoy the cliffside view surrounded by mountains.
Taking in the scenery at an altitude of 700 meters definitely requires a bit of courage, adding a thrilling and awe-inspiring experience to your usual viewpoint visit. The triangular viewing platform is expected to open in the summer of 2016 — remember to add it to your itinerary if you’re heading to Norway!
