Walking through the quiet alleys of Yongkang Street’s residential area, look up and you’ll see a colorful art wall on the exterior of an old apartment building — it’s the sixth “GUCCI Art Wall” in the world!

The “GUCCI Art Wall” is a street art initiative by the Italian fashion brand GUCCI. The brand seeks out local artists around the world to create unique GUCCI-themed artworks. Previous installations have appeared in cities such as New York, Milan, London, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, and now the sixth GUCCI Art Wall has surprisingly popped up in Taipei!
The photo was taken from the perspective of a hair salon (Friends Salon & Friends Beauty) on the second floor of the apartment next to the mural.
With vibrant colors, bold hues, and exquisitely detailed brushwork, the artist behind this mural isn’t your average painter. GUCCI specially invited Taiwan’s nationally treasured movie billboard painter, Master Yan Zhenfa, who traveled from Tainan to create the artwork. Because the wall is part of a regular residential building, GUCCI also took time to negotiate and discuss with residents before gaining their approval.
The mural was entirely hand-painted by Master Yan Zhenfa, who worked atop a five-story scaffold. His decades of painting expertise are perfectly displayed on the residential exterior, right down to the curved lines and intricate small details — all created by his own hand, truly breathtaking. This GUCCI art initiative not only brings art to the streets but also blends local cultural sentiment with artistic expression, making it incredibly meaningful!
The location of this painted wall is in the vicinity of Lane 7, Lishui Street, near Hao Gongdao Golden Rooster Garden and Friends Salon & Friends Beauty. From Dongmen Station on the MRT, walk along Yongkang Street. After passing 50 Lan hand-shaken drink shop, continue walking forward until you see a small triangular park — the mural is on the wall of the apartment on the right-hand side.
