There aren’t many pink sand beaches in the world, but what makes Harbour Island’s pink sand beach special is its dreamy hue. The endless shoreline stretches out in a soft pink, embraced by blue skies and white clouds, making you feel like you’re in paradise!

No wonder it has been rated by Forbes as one of “the most beautiful beaches in the world,” attracting throngs of visitors. The pink sand is actually made up of the broken shells of tiny local organisms, which are small creatures with red or pink-colored exoskeletons. These creatures attach themselves to the surrounding reefs, and after being battered by waves or attacked by marine life, their remains are washed ashore. Mixed with white coral powder, these shells create this stunningly beautiful beachscape!
